Those Lazy, Hazy Days of Summer

Yesterday I received a message that simply read "06 Aug."  I wasn't quite sure what that meant so I responded and learned that it was my friend's way of saying that I hadn't posted on my blog since August 6th.  Well, that's true.  Although I do have a handful of posts in draft form.  But I'm going to chalk up my posting hiatus to the summertime.  You know, the living is so easy in the summertime. But vacation time is over, the kids are back in school.  And now I can get back to engaging in more "me time," because that's what this blog requires...time to just let my mind take me wherever I choose.

So, while I put the finishing touches on the Deborah's World video from my last show with Chris Base (yes I know, it's almost time for the next one).  Let me leave you with a couple of summer songs.  I need a couple of good summer songs today because it's so cloudy, damp and a little chilly
this afternoon.  Yeah, I'm old school...and I don't apologize for it.  Enjoy!

Friends of Distinction - Grazin In the Grass

I can dig it, he can dig it
She can dig it, we can dig it
They can dig it, you can dig it
Oh, let's dig it
Can you dig it, baby?

Tommy James and the Shondells - Crystal Blue Persuasion

Maybe tomorrow
When he looks down
On every green field, whoo-hoo
And every town
All of his children
In every nation
There'll be peace and good
Brotherhood
Crystal blue persuasion
Yeah

Bonus summer song:

Hugh Masekela - Grazin In the Grass

Which version of Grazin In the Grass do you like most?  I honestly can't choose.  They both are just soooo good!

Glad to see you back! And good song choices. Here's a couple more with that same type of vibe.

    1. everyoneknowsitswendy - Those are good ones. "Groovin on a Sunday Afternoon" is really a quintessential summer song...so smooth. When listening to Petula Clark's "Downtown" I used to imagine walking downtown in the spring and looking in the windows of the all shops. - See more at: http://deborahrowe.blogspot.com/2015/08/those-lazy-hazy-days-of-summer.html#sthash.qXbur7OH.dpuf
