This Is One Sticky Situation

There's nothing sweet about this story, but there's lots of buzz about an unusual theft that recently happened on Chicago's southwest side.  According to the Chicago Sun-Times, thieves made off with three beehives belonging to Jana Kinsman.  The beekeeper maintains 32 hives in community gardens on the city's south and west sides.  Things could get pretty sticky for us honey lovers, as this recent bee caper might be part of a national trend.  Why would someone want to steal bees?   There's big bucks in bees, which is why thieves are swarming around community gardens like Kinsman's.

You'd think the sticky-fingered bandits would be easy to catch, unless of course they're wearing a clever disguise.

In that case, perhaps it's time for authorities to set up a nationwide sting, combing the country to catch the crooks.  I don't want to drone on about this, but honey, if this trend keeps up, I'm going to make a beeline straight to my local grocer to stock up. And if anyone wants to know what I'm going to do with all that honey...well, that's none of your beeswax.
