The Pitch Queens

I just saw the Drive Time commercial with Tina and Tara, the two loony women in a van.  I love these two goofballs.  Whenever it comes on, I have to laugh at how they go about the business of helping people save money when shopping for a car loan, because the customer will certainly have to endure the antics of these two misfits on the road to savings.

Another product pitcher that I like a lot is Jan, the amazingly helpful and deceptively smart ambassador, er...receptionist in the Toyota commercials.  Cheerful Jan solves customers' problems while selling them on the value of buying a Toyota.  I suspect that Jan is missing out on lots of commissions, after all, she's just a receptionist.

And then of course there's Flo, the unofficial Queen of Spokespersons.  Progressive Insurance struck advertising gold with Flo.  My initial reaction to Flo was a somewhat uneasy curiosity. Maybe it was the hair or the pancake face embellished with pancake makeup.  Whatever it was, Flo's quirkiness was clearly contagious.

There are of course several honorable mentions, like the many sexy girls hawking everything from burgers to make-up.  But when it comes to women as product spokesperson, for me, the heavy hitters are the ones that make me laugh.

  1. I love, love, love the Drivetime ladies. They are hilarious! I hope they make more. I hate, hate, hate Flo and the Progressive commercials. They're like nails on a chalkboard for me. Every time they come on, I mute the tv.

    1. I hope they do. They seem like real friends. As I said, initially, I was uneasy with Flo...I've always liked Jan. Thanks so much for commenting.
