Curt Schilling and Andrew Shaw...A Terrible Tuesday

I guess I'll call it Terrible Tuesday since it was a couple of days ago when a comment and a social media post by two high-profile sports figures resulted in a $5000 fine, mandatory sensitivity training and the issuance of a public apology from one and the loss of a dream job for the other.  For lots of people, these incidents are further proof of rampant homophobia in the world of sports.  I don't see it that way.  Granted, there may very well be rampant so-called homophobia (so-called because increasingly it seems that if you don't agree with or support the lifestyle, you're a hater and that's just ridiculous) in the world of sports, but neither of these incidents qualifies as proof.
