Trump's At It Again...Now It's Accusations of Election Rigging

Immediately after the third presidential debate concluded, I said to my husband, "The lead story will be that Trump won't accept the election results if he loses".  Sure enough, as Fox News Channel's Shepard Smith wrapped up the network's coverage of the debate, he said just that.  But I'm not going to get bogged down with that nonsense.  The fact of the matter is that it doesn't matter whether Trump accepts the election results or not.  If he loses and decides not to accept the results, then okay, he won't accept them. Nothing changes.  Hillary will still be the President-elect.  There will still be a transference of power.  That's the beauty of the American system of government.

The media know this full-well.  But if you Google "Trump won't accept the election results" you'll get over 50,000,000 results, which suggests to me that lots of people actually think that if Trump declares "I don't accept the results" after the election, the American political system will grind to a screeching halt.  It won't.  It didn't when Al Gore refused to accept the results of his loss (he actually retracted his concession speech).  It didn't in 2004 when Sen. John Kerry pledged to send lawyers around the country

Latest Trump Video is a Blockbuster, But Wait, There's More

Donald Trump's vulgar comments of  eleven years ago have grabbed the attention of practically every media outlet on the face of the plant.  Released today by the Washington Post (CNN actually had the tape first since it was downloaded from their server by an unnamed producer), Trump's lewd comments have triggered a firestorm from members of  the media who apparently aren't aware that men sometimes say off-color, and yes, disgusting things to one another when women are not present.  The same can be said of women too, but that's a given.

Trump's Outreach to Blacks Won't Be Futile

Donald Trump delivered a much-anticipate speech last Saturday at Great Faith Ministries International in Detroit, Michigan. This was Trump's first widely-publicized appearance at a church with a predominantly black congregation.  I watched the video of his speech and it was pretty clear to me that those in attendance seemed genuinely pleased to have Trump in attendance. The congregants were not only gracious to their guest (the pastor gifted Trump with a prayer shawl from Israel and a personalized study bible with the scripture Mark 9:23 highlighted to encouragement Trump when he feels that the odds are against him.  (I have an issue with politicians speaking from a church's pulpit during worship service, but I'll leave this alone for another time.)

Why They're Not Against Trump

The conservative magazine, National Review,  has caused quite a kerfuffle with it's latest issue, "Against Trump," which, as the title suggests, is a scathing rebuke of Donald Trump. The piece is a collection of arguments (essays) written by leading conservative thinkers.  In short, the piece strives to make the case why Trump is not a conservative, doesn't deserve support from conservatives, doesn't represent conservatives, and will not uphold conservative ideals or champion such policies. The writers, all smart people, actually make a compelling case against Trump. Which is not a difficult task because Trump's conservative credentials are indeed fraudulent. He's been pro-choice and pro life.  He's taken positions that would weaken the right to own certain guns and to strengthen those rights. He has championed universal healthcare and demonized it.  In 1999 he switched his party affiliation from Republican to Independent Party, then to Democrat in 2001, and back to Republican in 2009. He's jumped around more than a Mexican jumping bean.

This Is the Email Mentioned During the Show

With the latest show being up on Youtube, I'm sure some of you wanted to read the entire email that I talked about and promised to post. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I received an email from someone (that I know) who responded to a facebook post by Father Michael Pfleger, the social activist Catholic priest in Chicago.  Pleger posted his concern about Donald Trump possibly bringing out the worse in Americans, and how scary he thought the was.  So here it is.

First, Father Pfleger's post:

The disgust with Politicians across this Country has allowed A Donald Trump to become a Leading candidate in the Republican party.... The real scary thing to me though, is How many Americans Believe in what he stands for!!!! While many laugh and enjoy his free style ranting....we should be frightened, because he is bringing out the very worse of American values and giving them a platform. Perhaps Mr. Trump is pulling back the covers on the Real America....and that my friends is the scariest thing of all.......
